§§ 7-10 DDG · Apache 2.0 disclaimer

Disclaimer

Content and link liability under German law plus the software disclaimer for the ZeroDDS implementation. Most important rule: Apache 2.0 is "as-is" — we are not liable for damages from using the open-source software.

The German and the English version are equally binding.

1 · Liability for the content of this website

The content on this website was created with the greatest possible care. We cannot, however, guarantee the correctness, completeness, and timeliness of the content. As a service provider, we are responsible under § 7 (1) DDG for our own content on these pages under the general laws.

Per §§ 8 to 10 DDG, however, as a service provider we are not obliged to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information or to investigate circumstances that indicate unlawful activity. Obligations to remove or block the use of information under general laws remain unaffected. Liability in this regard is, however, only possible from the point in time when knowledge of a specific infringement is obtained. Upon becoming aware of corresponding infringements, we will remove this content immediately.

2 · Vendor comparison statements

The statements in the Features & Comparison tables about third-party vendors (Cyclone DDS, Fast-DDS, RTI Connext, OpenDDS, dust-dds, RustDDS, OpenSplice, TAO, omniORB, MICO, JacORB, and others) are based on publicly available vendor documentation, release notes, and roadmap statements as of 2026-05.

These statements may change at any time through new vendor releases. We cannot guarantee the timeliness and correctness of third-party statements. Before making a selection decision, we expressly recommend direct verification against the respective current vendor documentation.

All trademarks and product names mentioned are the property of their respective owners:

3 · Liability for links

Our offer contains links to external third-party websites whose content we have no influence over. Therefore we cannot assume any liability for this third-party content. The respective provider or operator of the linked pages is always responsible for their content. The linked pages were checked for possible legal violations at the time of linking; unlawful content was not recognisable at that time.

Permanent monitoring of the linked pages is, however, not reasonable without concrete evidence of an infringement. Upon becoming aware of legal violations, we will immediately remove such links.

4 · Software disclaimer (Apache License 2.0)

The ZeroDDS implementation, all zerodds-* crates on crates.io, and the entire source code in the GitHub repository are licensed under Apache License 2.0.

In particular, the disclaimer clauses of Apache 2.0 apply:

Disclaimer of Warranty. Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, Licensor provides the Work (and each Contributor provides its Contributions) on an "AS IS" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or implied, including, without limitation, any warranties or conditions of TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Limitation of Liability. In no event and under no legal theory, whether in tort (including negligence), contract, or otherwise, unless required by applicable law (such as deliberate and grossly negligent acts) or agreed to in writing, shall any Contributor be liable to You for damages, including any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages of any character arising as a result of this License or out of the use or inability to use the Work.

Summarised in plain language: ZeroDDS is open-source software without warranty. We are not liable for damages arising from the use of the software — neither for direct, indirect, special, incidental nor consequential damages. Safety-critical applications require their own validation and, where applicable, a certification engagement path with a certification body. For such engagements: Business inquiry.

5 · Copyright

The content and works on these pages created by the site operators are subject to German copyright law. Duplication, processing, distribution, and any kind of exploitation outside the limits of copyright require the written consent of the respective author or creator.

Downloads and copies of this page are only permitted for private, non-commercial use. Insofar as content on this site was not created by the operator, third-party copyrights are observed. In particular, third-party content is marked as such. Should you nevertheless notice a copyright infringement, please let us know. Upon becoming aware of legal violations, we will remove such content immediately.

The ZeroDDS source code is licensed under Apache License 2.0 (see section 4) and may be copied, modified, and redistributed in accordance with the licence terms.

6 · Security reports

Security vulnerabilities can be reported responsibly to security@zerodds.org, or via GitHub Security Advisories. Detailed disclosure process in the SECURITY.md of the repository.
